STUDIO OWNER & DIRECTOR

LIVED IN COLOUR SPECIALIST

CONFIDENCE BOOSTER

Hairdressing was my first ever job after doing a week of work experience at the salon in high school. I loved it so much that I’ve been doing it ever since. I spend my free time hanging with the poochie gang (Luna, Comet and Aelin), going on adventures whenever we can. My bucket list travel spot would be Spain! I’d love to do a cruise down the Mediterranean.

  • MASTER STYLIST / MANAGER

As a kid I was always playing with my dolls hair and giving them new hairstyles, and as a teen I loved experimenting with my hair with different colours! It took moving to Brisbane and attempting (and failing) a uni degree before I finally embraced my passion for hair and started my apprenticeship. That was back in 2014 and I haven’t regretted it for a minute. I love getting to be creative everyday with funky cuts and colours, anything edgy and out there is my jam! In my free time I love spending time reading, going for an early morning run, or hanging out with my friends. My dream holiday would be to travel through Europe, I’ve never been before and I’m a bit of a nerd at heart so I would love to visit all the museums and historical sites and check out all the ancient relics!

  • SENIOR STYLIST

I first had the idea that I wanted to be a hairdresser around the age of 9 when I had to fill out my “future goals” at school. In my teens I was always experimenting with mine and my friends’ hair with different colour and styles. It was obvious to me then that hairdressing was going to be my path. There’s something about a fresh colour and blowdry that makes me feel like I can take on the world! The thing I love the most about hair would have to be giving people a new sense of confidence in themselves. When I’m not in the salon you can usually find me hanging out with friends and family, or out at the beach! Naturally then, swimming with whales is at the top of my bucket list, but I’ve also always dreamt of backpacking through France and Italy, so I’ll have to make this happen one day!

  • SENIOR STYLIST

I first got introduced to the hairdressing world working as a tea and tidy at age 13. Before deciding that hairdressing was what I wanted to do, I was dancing pre-professionally full time, as this was my first passion, and I was convinced this was what I wanted to do as a career. While I was still dancing I started my hairdressing apprenticeship in 2017 at age 18, and fell in love with it and realised this was what I wanted to do! I love that in hairdressing every day is different, and that I get to make people feel good about themselves. I also love getting creative with colour and all kinds of blonde! Outside of work I do ballet once a week as I still love dance and it’s my favourite way to get moving! I’m also learning Japanese as I went to Japan recently and had the most incredible time. I would love to go back sometime in the near future and be able to communicate with the locals and experience Japan in a different light.

  • EMERGING STYLIST

Since kindergarten hair has always been my hyperfixation and dream. Whether it was cutting the hair off my Bratz dolls to give them new ‘do’s, cutting myself a bowl cut at the age of four, or cutting myself a dodgy fringe and hiding the evidence in my jewellery box. Yes, I was caught, but did that ever stop me from chasing my dream? Absolutely not! At the young age of 16, I decided to leave school and was so fortunate to start working with my beautiful family at Black Flamingo Studio. My favourite thing to do in hairdressing is colouring and foiling. I love how creative these services are and I love that they always encourage me to think outside the box! During my free time I love to go fossicking for crystals, spending time with my cat Lochy, and spending time with my friends, family and partner creating wholesome memories. My dream holiday would be to go meet my family over in Italy, and go on a Greece trip with my mum and sister and scream the Mamma Mia soundtrack everywhere we go!

  • EMERGING STYLIST

From the second I first stepped foot into a salon, I knew it was where I’m meant to be. I love the creativity, the passion, and helping people express themselves through their hair. Hairdressing is a dream come true! When I’m not at work I love spending time with my family and partner, going for walks, and visiting every market possible! I love going to the Abbey Medieval Festival, and I can’t wait to visit again next year!

  • EMERGING STYLIST

I’ve always been a very creative person and I love everything to do with beauty and fashion. I really wanted to work in the beauty industry and I thought that hairdressing would be a great way to express my creative abilities. In my free time I love hanging out with friends and family and spending time outdoors. I enjoy going to the movies, going to music gigs or festivals, and going out for food and drinks. I recently travelled to Thailand and Japan, which were both amazing. I’ve now got the travel bug and I want to go all around the world, there’s so many places I would love to see. Disneyland has also been on my bucket list for a while so hopefully soon I can tick that off as well.

  • EMERGING STYLIST

Ever since I was a little girl, being extremely picky with my hair was my whole personality. It wasn’t until my final year of high school where I found myself at a crossroads, I didn’t know what I wanted to be, all I knew was that I loved being creative. After attempting uni and realising it was definitely not my cup of tea, fate led me to hairdressing, where I discovered it was the perfect outlet to allow my creativity to flourish and evolve, as well as my love for hair and beauty. I love the way a simple hair change can make someone feel beautiful and confident in themselves. Other than work, my life revolves around travelling with my partner, the beach, family, and making memories with my besties. My dream is to do a trip around Australia and explore new places, as well as making new memories.
